Baldy Collection
This winter collection features a cohesive group of vases made with intentionally thought-out designs and styles. Each is made to hold flowers, plants, or other items as a decorative attention to your space. I hope these pieces bring a sense of peace and cozy comfort. Each is named after something that held my attention this winter.
This vase was originally made to be raw buff clay at finish. With the unique texture, I decided to add a gorgeous flowy white glaze to give it more shine and emphasize the ridges.
Using glaze just on the inside to seal the vessel, the outside shows off a deep brown raw clay with a rough unique texture. Finished with two ringlets wrapped in twine for contrast and additional texture.
This vase is made from speckled buff clay with glaze inside to seal for water. It is one of the more modern pieces I’ve made and fits perfectly into this winter collection.
This vessel is a classic style made of speckled buff clay with glaze on the interior.
This vase kicked off my winter collection. Experimenting with a delicious dark chocolate clay, and a honey jar shape, I fell in love.
Signature Collection
This collection includes pieces named after some of my favorite dogs. It tells the journey of the creation of Mud By Lurn. There is a wide variety of pieces in this collection from rough and natural, to playful and wonky. Each vessel was created in my home alongside my dog and a few others along the way.
The Vase: As one of the largest pieces in the collection, this vase makes a beautiful statement without even trying. Crafted from buff clay with no exterior glaze, it has this wonderful rough texture and organic shape. The whole idea behind it was to make something timeless—a classic piece with a natural finish that could fit perfectly into any home or business.
The Name: Hank was a classic boy lab and everyone’s best friend. He loved food, his ball, duck hunting, and pretty much any adventure. Hank was always smiling and bringing others joy just by being around. He was the best and stinkiest man.
2018-2023
The Vase: This piece really kickstarted a new era for Mud By Lurn. It pushed my boundaries of anything I had made before and encouraged a luxury tone in my work. It is buff clay with a matte chocolate underglaze making the chain movable.
The Name: My girl. Lady. Just 5 weeks after we lost our precious Hank, I saw a picture of Lady on the shelter’s website. She was an 8 week old fluff ball and I had to meet her. I drove 2 hours the next day and brought her home. She is protective, energetic, obsessed with the snow, and quite large. She’s an amazing guard dog to have in the mountains and will never pass an opportunity to play with another dog. Especially her bestie, Mia.
The Vase: I was so antsy to play with this speckled buff clay. I knew I wanted something that resembled a jug but could still be used as a decorative vase. With added texture and no exterior glaze, this piece turned out to be one of my favorites.
The Name: Oh Doopers. What a guy. He is my spicy meatball. Doopers was looking for a home, and his foster parents just couldn’t give him up. He is completely deaf, very well-behaved, will eat anything put in front of him, and is always down to snuggle on the couch. He is a very special man!
The Vase: This vase really showcases the fun and silly nature of Mud By Lurn. It actually made me giggle because it looks exactly like a woman wearing earrings! I adore the playful shape and the total uniqueness of those handles.
The Name: This piece is named after Olive, who is officially my boss's dog, but she feels like family to me. She's a spicy, funky, and silly girl who is full of personality and definitely isn't afraid to let you know it! Olive absolutely loves people, food, snuggles, and guarding the office.
The Vase: This is a buff textured vase with no exterior glaze. It is simple in shape, but unique in texture and design. It’s eye-catching and yet, simple.
The Name: Mr. Jett is my dog’s fiancé. They have yet to set a date for their wedding, but it’s in the works. Jett is a huge Maremma Sheepdog mix. He is a great guard dog who loves bones, tri tip steak, and his fiancé, Lady.
The Vase: I wanted this vessel to be stunning and eye catching. The dark amber glaze pairs perfectly with lighter tones. I love the smooth texture and deep color. It’s just simply beautiful.
The Name: Mia is my girl’s best friend. They are inseparable. I have never seen two dogs love each other the way these two girls do. She is the sweetest, goofiest, wiggliest worm. We love our classic red “Mia Pia”.
The Vase: This vase sticks out among the Signature Collection due to the finish of the firing. It was uniquely fired using the raku method which basically places the piece into a direct flame. This method creates a one-of-a-kind pattern with each firing.
The Name: Presley was my grandmother’s best friend. He lived to be just one month short of 19. He was a feisty little fella and would do anything to protect my grandmother and make sure she had companionship. They were inseparable. He lived a very long and very happy and spoiled life.
2007-2025
The Vase: I had this fun electric blue underglaze sitting in my home studio for a while. I typically thought “that doesn’t really fit my aesthetic” until I made this vase. I knew I didn’t want a vase to have a fun and funky shape without following it with a fun and funky texture and color.
The Name: Where do I even begin with Leo? He was rescued as my brother’s dog. He then became my dog. Now he has lived most of his life running the show at my parent’s house. He is one of the strangest dogs I’ve ever met. From begging to be chased, to sleeping under the covers in bed, Leo is the most unique and playful man I’ll ever know.
The Vase: A challenging vase that combines unique texture and shape. This vase is a buff ochre clay with no exterior glaze. I always envisioned this vase in a beach home, but it fits just as well in a mountain home in Breckenridge.
The Name: Baker is technically a coworker of mine. Her life goal is to win the world record for amount of pets in one day. She loves camping, skiing, and all the food she can get.
